WHY ROYAL ACADEMY?

Royal Academy of Irish Dance is an inclusive studio providing opportunities for children and adults to learn and cultivate an art form, while instilling passion, creativity, wellness, relationships, and most importantly, fun!

Meet Alexandra

Alexandra Macchi, TCRG, is the founder/director, choreographer, and instructor of Royal Academy of Irish Dance. Originally from Long Island, New York, Alex started dancing at the age of five. She trained competitively under the Doherty-Petri School where she qualified for the World Championships seven times, as well as medaled within the top ten dancers both nationally and regionally. Alex has won multiple regional team titles and also holds medals at the All-Ireland, Great Britain, and All-Scotland Championships. After her competitive career, Alex danced professionally in shows such as Studio2Stage, and performed in a U.S.A. tour as the lead principal dancer in the dance company, Rhythm in the Night. After earning her TCRG in 2017, Alex moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2018, and started teaching Irish Dance. In August of 2022, Alex opened her own studio, Royal Academy of Irish Dance!

We dance because it’s what we love to do!
